VCH Staff crowned most photohygienic
Thanks to everyone who submitted their selfies, photo bombs and friendies to this year’s Clean Shots photo contest. This year’s campaign to celebrate World Hand Hygiene Day was a success. Health authorities across BC submitted more than 1000 photos!
Not only did your humour and creativity keep us entertained over the last few weeks, you raised awareness of the easiest thing we can all do to protect ourselves and our patients from nasty germs.
VCH wins coveted Clean Shots Trophy
It was a close race, okay very close, but VCH squeezed out a win by one photo. Way to go VCH!
See the health authority standings below:
The trophy will be presented by Douglas Cochrane, Chair of the BC Patients Safety and Quality Council Chair. Stay tuned for coverage of the award presentation.
UBC staff takes home the grand prize for most creative
Congratulations to our Hand Hygiene Angels above Alda Lo, Grace Khoo, Brittany Hemrich from UBC Hospital who take home the grand prize, an iPad Mini, for the most creative. No germs are tough enough to get by these angels.
With so many creative entries this year, it was challenging to select just one winner. So we’ve compiled a page of the finalists so you can see just how creative heath care staff can be.
Special thanks
Special thanks to everyone who sent in their photos and the committee made up of members from PICNet, the BC Patient and Safety Quality Council and the six BC health authorities who made this campaign possible.
What’s Clean Shots all about?
On April 22, we launched the Clean Shots Photo contest to bring health authorities across BC together to celebrate World Hand Hygiene Day, May 5th. Learn more on the PicNet website

There are some PHN’s at Three Bridges that are starting to ride our bikes more to visits. I am wondering if there is a resource to help us with finding a handy map to map out the safest routes/ some education for safety for bike riding in downtown/ organizing our supplies etc. I have a bike, but I do not have anything to put pannier’s on. How do I bring my scale with me? regards

Somebody really needs to proof read articles before they are published. I’m not sure how germs are beaten by “Angles”! Should be corrected to Angels 🙂

You’re very welcome. Guess having worked as a copywriter and in marketing in the past does have its continuing benefits O:)
