‘Green’ training opportunities coming this fall
Want to make a difference for the planet and your workplace? Through the Green+Leaders program, you can receive training and support to encourage environmentally conscious behavior and ‘green’ improvements on the job.
The Green+Leader program is open to staff in clinical and office settings. Volunteers receive:
- Unique training, tools, and events;
- A community of supportive and like-minded colleagues;
- Fun and inspiring opportunities to have a powerful impact in your workplace and community.
Green+Leaders play an essential role in areas like recycling, energy conservation, clean transportation, social sustainability and more! The position involves 2-4 hours of work time per month, from October to May (with a supervisor’s permission).
Their experiences
Here’s what current Green+Leaders have said about their experience:
“I have found it motivating to work in a group and I feel the reach has been extended even to those departments that don’t have a Green+Leader.” (Kim Steger, Quality Safety and Outcome Improvement)
“I really liked the kick-off meetings. They provided a lot of information, with an opportunity to discuss with others and get new ideas for our own projects and workplaces” (Erin Sine, Nutritional Services)
“I find people in the workplace want to make a difference they just need a voice and time away from their ‘day job’ to do it.” (Ryan Good, Health Emergency Management BC)
“It is truly tremendous to see the passion and interest in the Green+ Leaders programme. It has been inspirational.” (Todd Stevenson, Accounts Receivable)
“I love being part of Green+Leaders! …As a team, I feel as though we are really making a difference!” (Liana Nishi, eLearning)
