New online resource for patients
Patients and clients are often looking for new and effective treatments for their health concerns. They want to know what advances are being made and they want to feel hopeful about their future wellbeing or the health of their loved ones.
Health research, particularly in the form of clinical trials, offers patients such hope as well as the opportunity to learn about their health as they gain access to new treatments, devices or medications. Participation in clinical trials is critical to the development of more effective treatments for all patients.
New online resource
VCH Research Institute (VCHRI) unveiled its revamped website recently, including an updated Participate in Research section, making it easier for patients to find clinical trials and participate in the discovery process. The section lists all VCHRI-registered clinical trials in all stages of the process, and is searchable by keyword or body system. Patients can also learn about how to volunteer in a clinical trial and about VCHRI’s commitment to safe and ethically sound trials that protect volunteer participants, researchers, doctors, scientists, nurses, and administrative staff working together.
VCHRI has over 700 researchers working on projects that will advance our understanding of health and illness. From asthma to depression to cancer, there are studies looking for participants right now and VCHRI is getting the word out.
