It’s WALKtober

Are you interested in expanding your (face-to-face) social networks? Have you ever strolled the streets and paths nearby your workplace? Aching to see “the light of day” within your workday? What about that frozen yogurt place your colleagues rave about? Or an undiscovered local coffee shop? Have you ever tossed a Frisbee at the park just a few blocks away? There are plenty of walkable neighbourhoods in the lower mainland for you to discover. These quiet places can be just a few steps away from the busy streets around many workplaces.

About WALKtober

The Lower Mainland Health Care Organizations support WALKtober, a month-long celebration of the joys and benefits of walking. We encourage you to organize a weekly walking team for WednesdayWALK throughout the month of October and beyond, and gradually increase the distance you can cover within 30 minutes. Some staff have already created their own WednesdayWALK groups. We urge you to do the same.

Download this flyer and post it where everyone can see. You’ll be surprised at how many employees also want to live a healthy lifestyle like you. Some of them already walk to work while keeping their bodies and pockets healthy!
