Pink Shirt Selfie Contest winners announced!
United we stand…divided we fall. Put a stop to bullying. This was the caption that accompanied the winning picture that was voted most creative by the EE selection committee. Congratulations to the SRC Short Call Staffing Clerks at VGH for winning the first prize of the Pink Shirt Selfie contest – ten pink respect t-shirts for their team, or proceeds from the sales, and a selfie wand!
Their team picture sends an important message to all of us that it’s more powerful to take a stand against bullying together – by standing up not only for ourselves but lending a hand when a colleague is need. As a people first organization, we all have a responsibility to say something if we see something by reporting disrespectful behaviour and intervening where appropriate.
Pink Shirt Day is everyday
Congratulations to the CST team for winning second prize – more VCH pink shirts! CST team members wore their pink respect t-shirts early, leading up to Pink Shirt Day and snapped a team photo to show that Anti-bullying day is every day and respect is a high priority for their team.
Don’t take bullying lying down!
The Practice Support Program team won third prize with a creative photo that shows that we shouldn’t “take bullying lying down” and stand up for ourselves – by having a conversation with the individual causing the concern or reporting the behaviour to VCH’s No-bully line: 1 844 (662-8559) or your manager.
All three pictures above were profiled at VCH’s Open Board meeting in Richmond on February 25 – click here to see the Open Board Respectful Workplace presentation. A big thank you to everyone who participated in the contest!
It’s not too late
We are running a second contest to capture the Pink Shirt Day enthusiasm we have seen across VCH. Join the fun and send us your best team selfies from Pink Shirt Day by end of day February 27: PinkShirt@vch.ca. Hint: be respectfully creative – the two best team photos will win a prize; a gift card to Rogue Restaurant or Craft Market for your next team gathering!
Thanks to everyone who contributed to a successful Pink Shirt Day campaign and helping us sell 2,900 pink respect shirts!
