New resource for in-charge nurses
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new online resource, “In-Charge Nurse Resource Site.” The resource is for staff who assume in-charge nurse roles and managers and frontline leaders (e.g. Educators and PCCs) to help educate and support nurses.
The resource site provides “in the moment” useful references including links to policies, procedures, resources and workflows, along with printable checklists to assist with decision making around in-charge nurse responsibilities. Resources are categorized by the four key competencies required for success in the in-charge nurse role: staff utilization, patient care, access & flow and leadership.
Naomi Monaster, Clinical Education Lead and point person for this resource site, said that “The resource site is meant to enhance knowledge sharing by providing consistent references and resources to support in-charge nurses in their role as frontline leaders. We wanted to create a user-friendly site where staff could quickly find the just in time information they need to support staff and patients.”
Access the site
You can access the online resource 24/7 through CCRS using your login information here. If you have trouble logging in, please email LearnWithUs@vch.ca. Many of the links within the online resource are VCH internal sources so you will need to use a VCH computer with access to VCH Connect.
Help us spread the word
Please help inform your colleagues about the new in-charge nurse resource site. A poster advertising the site is available here.
This resource site was the result of a huge amount of work by Clinical Education team members to gather such a wide range of information. Thank you to all the leaders and staff who helped us build this useful resource!
