Two awards for Dr Pam Glassby

Congratulations to Dr Pam Glassby, Supervising Dentist of the Vancouver Community Public Health Dental Program, who is the recipient of two dental awards. The first is the 2014 Canadian Dental Association Oral Health Promotion Award which she will receive on Friday April 24th at the Presidents Installation Dinner in Ottawa, CDA’s Oral Health Promotion Award recognizes individuals or organizations who have improved the oral health of Canadians through oral health promotion. This may involve creating public health policy or supportive environments, strengthening community action, developing personal skills and increasing the prevention of oral diseases and disorders. The second is a 2015 merit award from the BC Dental Association for her substantial contribution in the field of improvement to dental health . Dr. Glassby received this award at the tooth fairy gala in March.

About Dr. Glassby

Dr. Pam Glassby has long been a champion of promoting oral health for young children. In 2002, Dr. Glassby developed the Smile to Smile/Knee to Knee program to improve the dental health of young, vulnerable children in Vancouver through assessments combined with oral health counselling for their parents. Through both oral health promotion and education, Dr. Glassby has truly made a difference in the lives of many children and their families and is a deserving recipient of these two awards.
