What we learned from the Patient & Public Engagement Survey

For the second year in a row, VCH’s Community Engagement department sent out a survey to assess the health authority’s capacity for, and culture of, patient public engagement. We were again delighted to receive a high number of responses! Many thanks to those of you who took the time to fill out the survey. The survey is an important tool for the Community Engagement team to be able to evaluate engagement activities at VCH.

What we heard from you this year:

  • We need to raise awareness within VCH of the patient & public engagement strategy and its goals
  • We need to improve on reporting out on our work and ensuring that relevant input is impacting decisions appropriately
  • We need to promote training and tools available to staff to support engagement work across VCH
  • We need to build stronger relationships that engender trust between VCH and our stakeholders

The CE Team will be working on all these points and are grateful to have this feedback to guide our planning for the next few years. If you’d like to receive a copy of the feedback summary please get in touch!
