Do you have recycling questions?

Where should I dispose of soft plastic bags with biohazard symbols?

Dispose all plastic bags with biohazard symbols in yellow non-anatomical liner waste.

Why can’t I recycle soft plastic bags with biohazard symbols?

For two reasons:
1. Waste transport and recycling staff perceive any item with a biohazard symbol to be contaminated. In order to ensure the health and safety of their workers, recycling vendors, transfer stations and landfills don’t accept any items with a biohazard symbol.
2. Soft plastics aren’t recyclable in our facilities. There is no market for our soft plastics because of small size and poor quality, as well as, high contamination issues.
