Last chance to register: Leading through Influence Course for leaders
Are you a leader looking to advance your leadership skills for influencing others? The Management Development Team is offering a first-time education session called ‘Leading through Influence’ for staff who are in positions that are required to influence, motivate and lead others without a formal supervisory/management role (i.e. no direct reports).
Why is influence important for leaders to use?
“Effective leaders lead by mobilizing people around a compelling vision of the future, inspiring them to follow in the leader’s footsteps. They show people what’s possible and motivate them to make those possibilities real,” said Matt Summers, Management Development Advisor. Leadership influence can help achieve individual and organizational goals.
Marcia Choi, Management Development Advisor, says that leaders who lack formal authority sometimes have an advantage in more effectively influencing others, “they can inspire and motivate us to be our best in other ways by creating lasting trust, motivation or purpose in people.” This course will guide you through specific principles and practices you can use to increase your influence and lead and motivate others more effectively.
Take the next step in advancing your leadership skills to influence others and help develop the best workforce at VCH.
