New Municipal Pension Plan enrolment rules

The Municipal Pension Plan has made changes to the enrollment rules for re-employed retired members, effective June 24, 2015. Retired members returning to work for a Municipal Pension Plan employer after that date must continue to receive their pension payments. Retired members no longer have the option of suspending or re-paying their pension payments and re-starting contributions to the Plan.

What you need to know

  • This change does not impact re-employed retired members that returned to work before June 24, 2015 and waived their pension.
  • Plan members seeking re-employment information can refer to the A Guide for Plan Members booklet located on the Municipal Pension Plan website.
