Extended iSite Downtime beginning tomorrow night: Are you prepared?

On November 6th at 1800 to November 7th at 1100, the regional picture archiving and communication system (PACS) Webviewer across all VCH/PHC sites will be upgraded from Philips iSite version 3.6 to Philips IntelliSpace version 4.4.

You’ll need access to medical images during the downtime? Here’s what you need to know:

From Friday, November 6th at 1800 to Saturday, November 7th at 1100, iSite (WebDI) and CareConnect will not be available for accessing images.

• Staff at Coastal sites (except for LGH) will view images on the 3.6 Philips Image Continuity Server (PICS) or directly from the modality in the Radiology Department.
• Staff at all other sites (LGH, MSJ, VGH, UBC, RH, and SPH) will view images via their local PACS (AGFA/Intelerad), the 3.6 PICS, or directly from the modality in the Radiology Department.
• To access the PICS, simply launch iSite as you normally would. You’ll be directed to the PICS automatically.

How do I prepare for the downtime?

• Ensure you’re familiarized with your department’s iSite downtime procedures for getting imaging support, scanning patients, entering patient data, and accessing images and reports.
• Save your work and logoff of iSite before 1800 on Friday, November 6th, but leave your workstation turned on.

What will I see after the upgrade?

All WebDI users across VCH/PHC sites will begin using IntelliSpace. Coastal sites (except for LGH) will also begin using IntelliSpace as a Radiology System. (Remaining sites will onboard to Radiology at a later date.)

Be sure to visit the VCH/ PHC PACS Replacement section of the Connecting DI Program page (on the PHSA POD) for IntelliSpace training materials, including videos and information sheets, which will walk you through the changes you can expect.
