ORNAC approved program

Clinical Educators support students by providing classroom teaching, one-on-one coaching, group work, hands-on experience, clinical skills teaching, simulation, regular feedback, and performance evaluation and by role modelling through their own practice. Successful applicants will receive a $5 per hour premium in addition to regular pay for each hour worked at VGH, and up to six weeks orientation to the program and OR sites across VCH with the opportunity to work alongside existing educators. They will also be supported to attend the educator pathway to broaden their knowledge and understanding of educational theory and teaching strategies. The VCH/PHC Perioperative Nursing Program is an ORNAC approved program that has a two-month online prerequisite, followed by five months in the actual ORs, which includes 255 hours of theory and 465 hours of clinical experience.
