It’s Christmas party season and that little black dress (LBD) at the back of my closet no longer makes the journey over my hips. My cash flow is also too tight to get another one. The thing is, I want to look great for my new guy who adores me and treats me like a queen, and I want to impress his coworkers at his company Christmas party. What should I do? Help!
– LBD Dilemma
Dear LBD Dilemma,
This new guy sounds like he adores the girl who you are right now today, and not the one that fit into that dress from the back of your closet. He sounds like he will be proud to have you on his arm regardless of what you wear. So, my friend, my best advice is to consider donating that LBD to someone who would get some joy out of it and pull something out of the front of your closet that you feel good wearing and wear it with pride and confidence. And then, enjoy a wonderful evening with your wonderful new guy.

Yes, but sometimes it’s fun to get something new that makes you feel like a million bucks. Why not check out the local thrift shops and consignment stores? Or, reach out to friends who wear the same size to see if they have a dress they could loan you.
