Party responsibly this holiday season

Tis the season for family gatherings, dinners with friends and office or work parties. Many holiday parties involve festive cocktails; many others do not. Do yours?

As harbingers of health, Trauma Services would like to take this time to remind staff to take care. Impaired driving remains a leading cause of car crash fatalities in BC. Approximately 86 people die every year in our province in crashes involving impaired driving and many more are injured and become patients in our hospitals.

Follow Canada’s Low Risk Drinking Guidelines, have a designated driver, and watch out for others on the roads. We want you and your family to have a very merry holiday and return to work safely.

Contest!

Is your office/unit/team/department having a party? The first five people who email VATraumaServices@vch.ca will win a party kit from ICBC. It includes everything you need to help prevent alcohol-related incidents and encourages people to use a designated driver or other safe options to get home safely. Or if you’d like to order your own you can do so via ICBC’s website.
