Patient & Public Engagement: Leadership survey results are in!
For the third year in a row, VCH’s Community Engagement department sent out a survey to managers and directors to assess the health authority’s capacity for, and culture of, patient public engagement. We were again delighted to receive a high number of responses! Many thanks to those of you who took the time to fill out the survey. The survey is an important tool for the Community Engagement team to evaluate engagement activities at VCH.
Here’s what we heard from you this year:
• We need to promote and enhance training and tools available to staff to support engagement work across VCH.
• We need to raise awareness within VCH of the patient and public engagement strategy and its goals and advocate for more funding and resources.
• We need to ensure that our patient and public engagement strategy is explicitly included in new staff orientation.
The CE Team will be working on all these points and are grateful to have this feedback to guide our planning for the next few years. If you’d like to receive a copy of the feedback summary, please click here.
