Flu policy ends April 15

The flu season is officially over, and as such the Influenza Control Program Policy is no longer in effect as of midnight Friday, April 15.

This means that staff, physicians and volunteers who have not received the influenza vaccine are no longer expected to wear masks in patient care areas.

Keep an eye out for an official announcement from Dr. Patricia Daly April 15.

Typically the provincial flu policy ends around March 31st, but due to a late influenza season and ongoing elevated influenza A activity in BC, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Perry Kendall had extended season and policy.
