One month from GO LIVE for PARIS version 6

The eCommunityNEXT Project team has been working hard over the last few months putting the final touches on PARIS version 6 in time for our Go Live on June 13th. Project team members from Transformation and IMITS have been working with our vendor Civica to prepare for our implementation weekend, June 10th through June 13th. Clinical staff from across the programs have been actively testing the new application and our educators and coaches are working with staff to get them trained.

If I use PARIS, what can I expect?

The upgrade to PARIS v6 will begin with PARIS being “turned off” the evening of Friday, June 10th until the morning of Monday, June 13th. This will affect all PARIS users across all sites, affecting approximately 6,000 people. Teams that operate 7 days per week will follow their normal downtime procedures and PARIS V3 will be available for “read only” functionality during the downtime. The morning of Monday, June 13th, PARIS version 6 will be “turned on”. All users who log into PARIS will see and use the new PARIS. If you use PARIS, ensure you have completed the right training for your program and role. Most training is done through online eLearning or GoTo Meetings so courses can be completed from your own computer, at your own pace. Please visit our website on VCH Connect for more information.

What is the project support plan?

Teams across our community sites have educators and coaches who have undergone their own training to support their staff throughout the upgrade. Project team members have been assigned to support the programs and will be “on the ground” during the transition to PARIS version 6. The project is also working with the affected teams on downtime procedures. If you are unsure who your educator or coach is, please speak with your manager.

A vision of an integrated system across the region

The shift to providing enhanced Primary and Community Care and improving services delivered in the rural and remote communities will be supported by standardizing workflow and practice across acute, ambulatory, community and primary care teams. The eCommunityNEXT Project is the first step in the eCommunity strategic roadmap and has been identified as a key enabling strategy in support of the VCH True North goals, with a vision of an integrated, interdisciplinary system of acute, primary and community care services across the region.
