Bring your kids to work!
Take Our Kids to WorkTM is an annual program in which Grade 9 students are hosted at workplaces across the country on the first Wednesday in November as they begin to explore possible career paths. The program supports career development by helping students connect school, the world of work, and their own futures.
This program is not a BC Ministry of Education or School District sponsored event. There is no third party liability coverage or WCB coverage by either the Ministry of Education or School District for this experience nor is VCH responsible for any loss, injury, or damage, including property loss or damage, which your child/charge may suffer as a result of his/her participation in the program.
Grade 9 students, who have a parent or legal guardian that is an employee of VCH, or employee of an affiliate working at a VCH site, or contractor or physician with VCH privileges, and has the approval of his/her Department/Unit/Program manager, would be eligible for the program.
The manager has the authority to refuse this permission if he/she feels it is inappropriate. Some units work together to plan events for the children of staff that involve a tour of the public spaces of the hospital and classroom activities away from direct patient care.
The 2016 Take Our Kids to Work Day 2016 Package is located on the VCH Connect website under Learning & Development, Clinical Education, Student Practice Education.
