To all Windows 7 users: Notice of Fluency Flex Software upgrade
Who is affected?
All Windows 7 users at VCH, PHC, PHSA (VPP)
What is happening?
Fluency Flex software used for electronic provider documentation purposes is being upgraded and will be installed on all Windows 7 workstations.
What can I expect to happen?
You will see these new icons on your desktop, this upgrade does not affect the functionality of your applications, and no action is required.
Why is this software being deployed?
Electronic provider documentation (for physicians, midwives, nurse practitioners, clinical pharmacists, optometrists, podiatrists, and dentists) is being deployed as part of the Clinical and Systems Transformation (CST) Project. Documenting patient records electronically will be essential to the completeness of the electronic medical records in our new Cerner integrated clinical information system.
To make the transition to electronic provider documentation easier, front end speech recognition “FESR” will be broadly deployed across VPP in advance of CST. The M*Modal FESR software called “Fluency Flex” and “Fluency Direct” will provide physicians and clinicians the full ability to dictate and edit operative notes, consults or discharge summaries.
When is this scheduled?
This upgrade is scheduled to be installed on all Windows 7 workstations at VPP mid-December. Service Desk site wide communications will be sent out once deployment date is confirmed.
