Are you my neighbour? Chances are that some VCH colleagues live near you
At a recent VCH new-hire orientation session with only a couple of dozen participants, six individuals learned that they lived close enough to form a carpool. Their plan to follow-up on this opportunity assured that they would cut commuting costs and gain access to the HOV lanes.
Carpooling can be as flexible as you need it; once a week, twice a week, every day or only the occasional ride when your car is in the shop or being used by someone else in the family.
If you’re curious to know who else in your neighbourhood works near you, then VCH’s new carpool-matching tool can help. Over the past year, several VCH acute sites have been trialing various methods of facilitating carpool match-ups but now Checkbox provides a cleaner system of grouping responses of people working at the same site and living in the same sector of Metro Vancouver (& Squamish).

If you think you can benefit, simply take 2-3 minutes to sign-up for the VCH Carpool Connections. Every Thursday in March you will receive an updated list of promotions, successes and events for your work-site. All that will be shared is first name, email address and shift-times. Opt in or out as you wish. The most successful carpools will be awarded with priority parking spots!
Transit users wanting to reduce their commuting time are encouraged to participate. Cyclists who seek an icy-day alternative too.
