VCH Environmental Health Staff host a national conference
VCH Environmental Health Officers (EHO’s) organized a national conference for their professional association, the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) in November in Richmond. The CIPHI Annual Education Conference is held in a different province each year and VCH EHO’s were thrilled to be able to host the 83rd conference.
About the conference
The conference theme was Honouring Traditions, Inspiring Innovation and the program included presentations and workshops on a wide variety of environmental health topics including food safety, cannabis regulation, healthy built environments, communicable disease and bed bugs. The conference was an overwhelming success with over 340 delegates attending daily.
Each day started with a keynote speaker and VCH EHO’s were very proud to have Dr. Patricia Daly, Chief Medical Health Officer and Vice President of Public Health for VCH, as a keynote speaker. Patricia was awarded a CIPHI Honourary Membership in recognition for her leadership, and strong support of EHO’s and CIPHI.
