If you have 2 years of recent acute medical/surgical experience, you may be eligible to apply for training to work in a specialty unit such as ICU, Post-Anaesthetic Recovery, Labour and Delivery, Emergency, Burns & Trauma, and others. Unit-specific training opportunities will be posted starting Thursday, April 12 for VCH sites including VGH, UBC Hospital, Lions Gate Hospital, and Richmond Hospital. Any remaining vacancies will continue to be posted throughout the month.

Training begins in September, with online prerequisites (if applicable). Full time training at BCIT (Burnaby campus) and practicum locations starts in January or April, depending on the program. Once you complete training successfully, you’ll walk into a full-time position in the specialty area you trained for. More information can be found here on the Clinical Education website.
