Construction continues at the HOpe Centre site as North Shore Mental Health & Addictions staff and physicians prepare for the building to be completed and move in early this fall.

HOpe Centre update goes to North Shore staff

The latest HOpe Centre Project Update has been distributed to staff and physicians across the North Shore, outlining the work being done by Mental Health and Addiction planning teams and task groups as they prepare for move-in to the new facility later this fall. With a recent delay in flooring for the building as well as remediation work required for cosmetic concrete work, the HOpe Centre is now scheduled to be completed in September 2014.

This month’s update also provides a quick overview several of the MH&A programs moving into the new building, while next month’s edition will focus more on the community mental health programs and services. There’s also information on  key projects such as a new orientation manual and some of the buildings features that will contribute to an improved patient care environment for patients, families and staff such as the:

  • sacred space
  • private inpatient rooms
  • client/family lounges
  • interview and group meeting rooms

For people interested in the progress of the HOpe Centre Project who aren’t on the North Shore, the newsletter will be available through www.vch.ca next week.
