Will Squamish teen’s death change way B.C. deals with youth addiction?

Steffanie Lawrence’s parents petition province to allow teens to be involuntarily admitted for addiction and mental health treatment. Steffanie passed away two days after being discharged from Lions Gate Hospital. VCH released a statement that youth must meet the criteria for certification under the Mental Health Act if they are to be held against their will.
