The idea behind VCH’s Foundry North Shore is to bring more than 15 existing programs and services for youth and their families under one friendly roof.

Operated by VCH, the 9,000-square-foot Foundry facility, located in Lower Lonsdale, had a soft opening in July and has now officially opened its doors.

VCH says it’s taking a close look at the results of a major survey of long-term care residents and their families released last week by the Office of the Seniors Advocate.

Health Minister Adrian Dix made 15 appointments to regional health boards including VCH’s, with some of the changes signifying a political changing of the guard as key NDP supporters were added to boards while prominent B.C. Liberals departed.

International students who are burning out fear that asking for help may lead to deportation. VCH spokesperson said they do not contact the CBSA without a patient’s permission.

To gain better nutrition knowledge, the food bank is working with Meghan Molnar, nutritionist from VCH.

In addition to the new board chairs, Wendy Au, Dr. Margaret McGregor, and Vi Nguyen have been named as board members for Vancouver Coastal Health.
