Clinical Mobile Equipment Cleaning Coming to LGH!
The Mobile Equipment Cleaning & Distribution (MECD) Program is nearing the July 15th implementation date at Lions Gate Hospital.
This program is managed by Aramark in collaboration with VCH Coastal Quality & Patient Safety. It represents a key initiative within the VCH Regional 4 Cornerstone project. Our aim is to improve the cleaning, availability and storage of clinical mobile equipment, while minimizing cross-contamination and reducing healthcare associated infections. Initially the scope of the program includes 5 key pieces of Biomed equipment such as feeding pumps, infusion pumps, PCAs, epidural pumps and IV poles.
Over the following weeks Simon Tse will be working to ensure effective communication and planning leading up to and following the July 15th implementation day.
