Sunshine Coast Kindergarten Health Fairs offer parental peace of mind

Do your clients or patients have four or five year olds starting kindergarten this year? If so, urge them to attend Vancouver Coastal Health’s Kindergarten Health Fairs in Gibsons and Sechelt.

This is a free health check-up for little ones – a one stop shop for parents and caregivers. Staff are hoping to see 95% of all local kids. VCH staff with kids entering kindergarten are also encouraged to attend.

Nurses and staff will be checking childrens’ vision, hearing, and speech and language skills. A dental hygienist will be offering check-ups. Nurses will ensure kids are caught up on their vaccinations. Nutritionists will provide tips and tricks to get kids eating their veggies. And injury prevention specialists will offer help to ensure kids play safe.

Appointments last approximately 45 minutes. Parents should have their child’s health passport and care card number with them.
