Building Community Capacity in Food Security on the North Shore

The North Shore Population Health Team announced the successful applicants to the Community Food Security Initiative on the North Shore for 2014/15.

The purpose of this initiative is to increase food security for all members of the North Shore community while specifically working to improve access to healthy foods for people with low income. Vancouver Coastal Health, North Shore offers small grants that build community capacity to improve and sustain community food security.

The $10,000 in grant funding will be shared among 11 organizations: Olive Grove Childcare, Edible Garden Project Orchard, Cerebral Palsy Association, North Shore Community Garden Society, North Shore Disability Resource Centre, North Shore Connexions Society, Norgate Elementary School, Lynn Valley Services Society, Brooksbank Elementary, the Farmer’s Market Coupon Program and Cultivate.
