Annual Foundation golf tourney puts CT scanner campaign over the top
Fun, food and golf all came together earlier this week, resulting in the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation raising more than half a million dollars towards a new CT scanner for LGH through their 18th Annual LGH Golf Classic. The tournament took place on Monday (June 16) and involved 148 golfers making their way around Capilano Golf & Country Club, munching on food and drinks provided by a wide variety of sponsors.
“This year’s event was noteworthy for a few reasons,” says Judy Savage, LGH Foundation President. “Not only did we raise more money than we ever have, we also reached our $2.5 million goal for a new CT scanner for the hospital.”
The presenting sponsor, Locher Evers International, have been strong supporters of this event, as well as the Capilano Golf & Country Club who generously donates the use of the course for the day. The Classic is the only charity tournament held at Capilano all year.
“We’d like to thank the volunteers from LGH who helped put on the event,” says Judy, “as well as the staff and physicians that participated in the tournament itself.”
