St. Mary’s staff and physicians lauded for great work
On Sunday, July 6 I was experiencing difficulties as a result of outpatient surgery I had had at another facility. The symptoms continued to get worse and I went to the emergency department at St Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt.
I was immediately and efficiently looked after by the booking clerk (whose name I unfortunately did not get), Julie, the triage nurse immediately took me to a place where I could lie down and did what she could to make me comfortable.
I believe it was Dr. Monica Martin who saw me that day. She was extremely thorough with my care that day and made sure follow up was booked for the following day. I was also seen and treated by RN’s Jennifer and Colin and Michelle the lab tech who took my blood. I have to say that they were all delightful and attentive. As sick as I was I could not help but notice how much their attitude and professionalism helped to make me feel better.
The following day I was looked after by a RN named Karen. She was working in emergency that day and outpatient the next. She went out of her way to make sure I was looked after and set me up for outpatient care the next day.
I know that people are quick to complain when things don’t go as well as they would like but I feel it is just as important to let people know when things go really well as was my experience. Please pass this on with my sincere thanks to the appropriate people.
