Swing into Spring fun planned for North Shore staff and physicians

The Lions Gate Hospital Foundation is launching their second Swing into Spring campaign, following last year’s great success. The campaign offers some of the tried-and-true fun from last year and features a couple of new ones as well. The calendar of events for the week of March 9-13, 2015 includes:

MONDAY, MARCH 9 – Swing into Spring

11:30am-1:30pm; LGH Lobby

This year’s weekful of events kickoffs in the LGH Lobby on Monday, where you’ll be able to see what’s to come at LGH as well as:

  • Get your tickets to the St. Patrick’s Day Dinner & Dance (March 13) and start the bidding on our fantastic Silent Auction items
  • Sign up for the 2nd Annual LGH Dodgeball Tournament (March 11)
  • Head to the cafeteria for lunch – Sodexo is donating a $1 per meal to the Foundation this lunchtime!

TUESDAY, MARCH 10 – Multicultural Day

11:30am-1:30pm; LGH Lobby

Join us in the LGH lobby for a multicultural snapshot of LGH as staff members representing a variety of ethnic groups will be providing information and offering goodies for sale with proceeds to the Foundation.

With lots of laughs and a chance to channel your competitive spirit, the 2nd annual LGH Dodgeball Tournament is not to be missed. Register your department’s team of six players for some dodgy fun and the chance to win the coveted LGH Foundation Dodgeball trophy! The entry fee is $5 entry fee per person at the door and you’ll get a first-hand opportunity to see if the Physiotherapy department can hold on to their crown from last year. Registration forms are available at the Foundation Office or you can download one here.

11 am-2 pm; LGH Upper Parking Lot

The food trucks will be back on this Thursday, giving you a choice of tasty lunches offered by three different food trucks from across the bridge. Part proceeds from each meal sold will go to the LGH Foundation.

FRIDAY, MARCH 13 – St. Patrick’s Day Dinner & Dance

Doors open 6:30pm & Dinner at 7:00pm; LGH Gym

This is a new addition to the festivities and the first dinner and dance to be held at LGH in years. With a delicious buffet dinner and live music, the limited number of tickets available to this event will likely sell out fairly quickly.

Tickets are $40 and include dinner, a drink ticket and your chance to dance the night away to the sounds of a groovy band featuring LGH’s own Anne Moonan-Woods. There will also be a number of exciting Silent Auction items, a 50/50 raffle and a cash bar.

Tickets are available for purchase from the Foundation office.

For more information about any of the above events, go to the LGH Foundation web site, contact louise.campbell@vch.ca, call 604-984-5785 or drop by the Foundation office, just off the main lobby.
