Volunteers produce ripple effect at Kiwanis Care Centre
Each year, the Resident Council at North Vancouver’s Kiwanis Care Centre (KCC) funds the Volunteer Appreciation Event to honor the 30+ volunteers that do hundreds of hours of support each year. From the General Store, church services, palliative care, plant watering, bus outings, 1:1 visits, pet visits and so much more, our volunteers are invaluable to the happiness and well being of KCC residents and staff.
This year, we followed the theme of “Volunteers are a part of the ripple” and went with an undersea water adventure. Support for the décor was done by our creative Recreation Team and all the residents on all the floors in our programs. Support also came from our companions and many staff bringing in items that were needed to complete the event.
It’s an honor to celebrate the Volunteers here! Our residents looked upon this event each year with excitement and pleasure. It is the residents and staffs way of saying “THANK YOU!” and we do so with great pride and heart!
