Fishing and wildlife are some of the many natural wonders seen regularly in Bella Bella and other parts of the Central Coast.

Seeing all of Coastal — opportunities as a VCHer

WANTED: VCH nurses and physicians looking for experience in a rural medicine setting and a short-term change from your typical Lower Mainland health care facility. Interested applicants should apply within.

While that ad hasn’t been posted on craigslist yet, it could be soon as VCH-Coastal directors work hard to fill short-term postings for physicians and nurses (RNs and LPNs) in BC’s Central Coast area.

“At this point, we’re reaching out to any current staff or physicians who might be interested in doing a two-week or more rotation at the RW Large Memorial Hospital in Bella Bella,” says Chief Operating Officer Mike Nader. “We think that there are a number of existing staff and physicians who would welcome a couple of weeks away from the Lower Mainland and some experience working in a rural medical setting.”

Evidence of the excitement and outdoor life that working in the Central Coast can have is clear for people like Larisa MacGregor who went up to Bella Bella for a temporary assignment and wound up staying for close to a year.

“It can be a real eye-opener for people who’ve never been to the Central Coast,” says Mike. “For those of us who like to fish, hike and get outdoors, there’s plenty of options right at your doorstep when you’re up there.”

Anyone interested in more information about working on BC’s beautiful Central Coast or getting details on the opportunities are invited to stop by the first-ever Relief Recruitment Meet & Greet for Bella Bella physician and nursing positions that’s being held:
