Want to better understand the MOST form? Come to a Brown Bag Ethics Discussion on the topic at LGH February 4th or dial in if you can’t make it in person.

Deconstructing the MOST form over lunch

As of December, all Vancouver Coastal Health acute, residential and hospice sites will have transitioned from using the Degree of Intervention (DOI) for DNACPR forms to new Medical Orders for Scope of Treatment (MOST) forms.

But some staff may still have questions, which is why a Brown Bag Ethics Discussion has been scheduled for February 4th at Lions Gate Hospital.

The discussion will be facilitated by Darren Kopetsky, Regional Director, Client Relations and Risk Management, who will:

  • Refresh understanding of the B.C. law concerning health care consent
  • Highlight and explain key elements of the VCH MOST policy
  • Explain the rationale for the mandatory dispute resolution process
  • Help staff further understand how to operationalize a MOST order.

“We have had a similar – and energetic – discussion with physicians, nurses, and social workers in other Communities of Care,” says Darren. “We look forward to hearing the views of staff working with patients for whom CPR would not clearly be of benefit, particularly those who may have challenges making their own consent decisions.”

If you are unavailable to attend in person Teleconferencing is available:
