Dunk a Doc hits the mark at Lions Gate Hospital’s second annual staff BBQ
Seven doctors and one COO dunked, 752 burgers served and smiles all around.
Despite unseasonably cold weather and intermittent downpours under a gun-metal grey sky, the second annual Lions Gate Hospital staff BBQ turned out to be a resounding success.
Kudos to the volunteers
“I want to thank all the LGH Staff Advisory Committee members and staff volunteers for their help in making this an amazing day,” says organizer Rebecca Hall, Internal Marketing Manager with the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, which co-sponsored the BBQ. “I also want to do a shout-out to the Sodexo team who rocked it serving up all those burgers.”
Put your hands together
Kudos are also extended to the seven LGH physicians and our Coastal Chief Operating Officer Mike Nader who all braved not only frigid air temperatures while sitting on the plank but also glacially cold water in the dunk tank.
A round of applause, please, for Dr. Stuart Horak, Dr. Brian Hunt, Dr. Alan Baggoo, Dr. Allan Burgmann, Dr. Glenn Robertson, Dr. John Vyselaar and Dr. Ross Brown who all displayed courage in the face of adversity – the adversity being the iron-arm throwers determined to dunk the docs, including two little girls who took the day off school to come sink their Uncle Mike.
And a special thanks to Mike Nader for personally buying lunch for the LGH staff. It was greatly appreciated by everyone.
