Preview: Upcoming CST Roadshow at Lions Gate Hospital and HOpe Centre
Before setting out on a journey, it’s always best to prepare and make sure you have everything you need in order to reach your destination. To give staff at Lions Gate Hospital and HOpe Centre the opportunity to “prep their packs” for the CST journey ahead, an upcoming Clinical and Systems Transformation roadshow will take place at various locations at both sites from October 31st to November 4th.
Beginning with an introduction by a member of the VCH-Coastal unit/clinical leadership team, who will provide an overview and update on the CST project, each roadshow will provide the chance to learn firsthand about how CST will improve the quality, safety and consistency of patient care.
Each event will also include a demo of an early prototype of the clinical information system, featuring the clinical perspective of that unit and program, followed by a Q&A period for attendees.
“Having worked on a number of clinical information projects over the years, I’m absolutely passionate about bringing in an electronic health record and clinical information system,” says Elizabeth Stanger, who has recently started in the role of Executive Director, CST Site Implementation.
“I truly believe that it’s better for patients, and it’s something that I am dedicated to achieving with our teams. It’s going to make such a difference in the way we provide healthcare.”
The upcoming roadshow events follow the sneak-a-peek sessions that have taken place occasionally at LGH in recent months. These Cerner functionality drop-in sessions have given staff the opportunity to put their hands on the keyboard and have some of their questions answered.
As CST continues to finalize opportunities for interaction and validation of the clinical information system, it will also develop a comprehensive plan for site-based demos and engagement activities. In addition, the CST team is developing a sustainable demo package, which will be made available to those staff who aren’t able to attend any of the roadshow events.
Staff are encouraged to attend a session taking place on their unit, if their schedule allows, or to attend another session at some point during the week.
