Parking challenges at LGH and SGH as we approach go-live
As CST activities continue to ramp up, you may have noticed an increasing number of people coming to LGH and SGH to support us as we prepare for go-live. Those numbers will increase in the coming weeks before and after go-live on April 28. As a result, parking at both sites will be limited.
LGH parking – carpooling
To reduce the number of vehicles coming to the LGH campus, consider taking transit, walking, biking or carpooling during this period. Chances are that an LGH colleague lives near you to carpool with. To that end, we are organizing an LGH Carpool Breakfast Meet and Greet with Arthur Orsini, Healthy Transportation Lead, hosting.
WHAT: LGH Carpool Breakfast Meet & Greet
WHEN: Tuesday, April 17, 2018
TIME: 6:30 am – 8:30 am
WHERE: LGH cafeteria
If you can’t make the meet & greet but are interested in carpooling:
- Complete the quick Carpool to LGH, SGH & WHCC questionnaire to find potential carpool buddies
- Email Arthur Orsini Healthy Transportation Lead with your carpooling needs/solutions.
SGH parking alternative
Chances Casino, about a 15-minute walk from the hospital, has generously provided an additional 15 parking spots for SGH staff. The spots, if you are facing the casino, are in the back left corner of the parking lot. There is no signage. There is an obvious marked walking path that runs parallel to the highway between the casino and the hospital.
We request you leave your vehicle at the casino and share a ride up the hill.
If SGH employees are keen to find out more about carpooling, email Arthur at arthur.orsini@vch.ca.
