Richmond Hospital voted best place to volunteer
We’re thrilled and honoured to be recognized as the Best Place to Volunteer, in the Best of Richmond 2013.
Best of Richmond is an readers’ poll of the best restaurants, shops and services in the island city coordinated by the Richmond Review. Top finalists and winners in 125 categories were published in a special edition May 31st.
Best Place to Volunteer is a new category this year. Other finalists in the category included the Steveston Salmon Festival and the Richmond Food Bank Society, and we are honoured to be in such great company!
Thank you to those who voted us one of the best places to volunteer, and congratulations to the other finalists!
The more than 800 volunteers who generously give their time to VCH-Richmond enhance the lives of hundreds of people every day in the hospital, community and residential care. Richmond Hospital volunteers visit patients and their families, lend emotional support during treatments and offer comfort to ease a hospital stay. They also greet visitors when they arrive and help them find their destinations. Volunteer members of the Richmond Hospital & Healthcare Auxiliary manage a number of retail ventures including the Richmond Hospital Gift Shop, vendor tables, lottery booth, as well as providing care and comfort to patients, residents and clients.
