Three science students earn Auxiliary Bursaries
Congratulations to Jody, Jeff and Kohle, the three recipients of the 2013 Bursaries presented by the Board of the Richmond Hospital/Healthcare Auxiliary. All three volunteer at Richmond Hospital and all are studying science/applied science at UBC.
Read on to learn more about this year’s deserving recipients:
- Jody Chau Yee Li, a volunteer since 2009, received $1,000. She is going into 3rd year Bachelor of Science @ UBC studying Integrated Sciences in Statistics and Pathogenesis. She plans to become Epidemiologist.
- Kohle Merry, a volunteer since 2011, received $1,500. He is going into 4th year Bachelor of Applied Science @ UBC, specializing in Biomedical Options. His aspiration is to practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon.
- Jeff Zong, a volunteer since 2007, received $500. He is going into 3rd year Doctor of Science @ UBC, starting clerkship rotations. Jeff’s goal to become a doctor and he hopes to pursue residency in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
The RHHA Bursaries are awarded annually to volunteers entering the second or subsequent year of post-secondary education in Canada in a health-care related field. Bursaries are based on scholastic success, volunteer achievements, financial need and the character of the applicant.
