Resident celebrates 100th birthday
Signe Lundquist credits a positive attitude, a sense of humor and good genes for helping her reach her 100th birthday. Signe, a resident of the Lions Park Seniors Housing Complex, recently celebrated her birthday in the garden area of the complex with many of the site’s 107 tenants. The event was sponsored by the Seniors Supported Housing Program.
Signe grew up the oldest of 12 children on a farm in Saskatchewan. She was an eager student whose scholastic talents were realized at an early age (allowing her to skip 2 grades at the one room country schoolhouse she attended!), but her school years finished after the 8th grade. A life long single lady, Signe enjoyed working hard in a variety of occupations during her years of employment. She says her retirement to subsidized housing at the Lions Park Seniors Housing Complex upon it’s completion in 1987, was a blessing. And certainly Signe is a blessing to us. Happy Birthday, Signe!
