Richmond celebrates breastfeeding

 World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated in Richmond with a Breastfeeding Challenge at Richmond Hospital and a display at the library.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, 11 moms latched on. This means that 100% percent of the newly delivered moms in the hospital took part. As well, during three mornings at the Brighouse Library, about 60 people stopped by to see our display and chat with Richmond Public Health staff. Our community displays promoted supports available for breastfeeding moms in Richmond. 

Colin Dring, Richmond Food Security Society Executive Director, also wrote an article in the Richmond Review titled, “It Takes a Community to Support Breastfeeding”.
