Gingerbread Treehouse?

The Parkside Cafe recently organized a Gingerbread House contest and Starbucks ran a similar contest for their staff. Submissions to both contests showcased a wide variety of beautiful, creative gingerbread houses – everything from treehouses made of pretzels to hospitals with free parking to tiki bars with gingerbread and chocolate guests.

Congratulations to the Clinical Nutrition team whose Gingerbread Treehouse was the fan favorite in Sodexo’s Gingerbread House contest. In the Starbucks’ contest, Amanda’s tiki bar took top honours.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to glue gingerbread pieces together with white icing and attach colourful candies and other innovative goodies. Thanks also to Leanne MacPhee and her staff at Sodexo, and Steve Schmidt and his staff at Starbucks, for organizing these fun, seasonal events.

The dietitians who created the terrific treehouse are (from left): Charissa Anderson, Lisa Halliwell and Jessica Begg. Missing is Karen Tyldesley also helped with the house.
