Minoru Beauty Salon Gets a Makeover
“This place is so beautiful I could live in it”
“What a wonderful job on the salon. We all feel very comfortable when we are here”
“The salon has been beautifully changed and I love to come more often”
This is just a small sample of the many positive comments Swamy Revappa, Manager of Minoru Residence has received since the Beauty Salon was renovated this spring
The Beauty Salon has always been a hub of activity, a place for residents to not only get their hair done but also a place to meet and socialize with our hairdresser Fawzia , and with each other. This busy place had not been revitalized since Minoru first opened its doors and as a result it was rather tired and worn.
Thanks to support from Tom So, Senior Manager, Richmond FMO, and money from the facilities maintenance fund, the Salon received a makeover which has resulted in significant improvements in the function and aesthetics of the space ..
For example, the new sink is further away from cupboards and walls to better accommodate wheelchairs. It is also adjustable so it can be positioned to meet the specific needs of clients instead of the other way around.
There are new and more cupboards and storage space to allow Fawzia to better organize her supplies effectively, and free up counter space.
Overall, the added space and better layout is much more wheelchair friendly.
Aesthically, there are new maple cupboards, new flooring and the walls have been painted a cool, calm aqua colour.
