Will you remember the 21 new names?

As a result of our new wayfinding system – together with bed map changes and the push towards provincial naming standards – 21 departments and areas throughout Richmond Hospital will have new or different names effective September 5, 2014. For example, 4 North will be known as 4 Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging will be known as Medical Imaging.

Please familiarize yourself with the upcoming changes and remember to begin using the new names in early September.

In addition, there are three new areas and three other areas have or will be moving.

New areas:

  • Short Stay Pediatrics (in current DTU location)
  • Patient & Family Resource Centre (new in the atrium)
  • Meeting Room 3C (new area) and Meeting Room 3A (Green Zone) re-opens.

Areas moving:

  • Registration (Admitting) in the new Atrium
  • Diagnostic Treatment Unit (DTU) moving to the ED Treatment area
  • Library remains in its new home in the Rotunda (former Room 6)
