Hike the Grind to support the mind!
Richmond Hospital Foundation invites all Vancouver Coastal Health-Richmond staff to participate in the 3rd annual Grind for the Mind in support of Mental Health Services in Richmond.
Sign up to hike the Grouse Grind on Saturday, September 12 and ask your family, friends, and colleagues to pledge a donation in support of your efforts to improve mental health care services. You can choose to start a team with your unit and raise funds together! If you don’t wish to hike, please consider making a donation of a participating colleague at Richmond Hospital.
Funds raised will go towards implementing an evidence-based model of care that aims to integrate the family as part of the care team to ensure better health outcomes for the patient and their family members.

Event background:
Mental health challenges place numerous stresses not only on patients, but also their families who are often front line care-givers. Knowing families play a critical role in care delivery, Richmond Hospital’s mental health team recognized the need to integrate the family as part of the care team to ensure better health outcomes.
This vision inspired the Sandhu family to create an event to raise awareness and funds to make this model a reality and to help fund future renovations to the Mental Health Unit at Richmond Hospital. Through their business Ampri Group, they launched the inaugural “Grind for the Mind” event in 2013, where 150 people hiked the Grouse Grind and collected pledges and donations. Over the past two years, the event has raised $70,000 in support of mental health care delivery in Richmond.
Thank you for helping us ensure a brighter future for mental health patients!
