Congratulations to Dr. Brenda Wagner, VCH Richmond’s own senior medical director, who earned her Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) designation this spring. VCH Richmond physician honoured for exemplary leadership

Canadian Certified Physician Executives (CCPEs) are not only leaders in their medical specialty, but also possess the leadership capabilities, knowledge and skills needed to direct, influence and orchestrate change in Canada’s complex health care system.

For this reason we’d like to extend congratulations to Dr. Brenda Wagner, VCH Richmond’s own senior medical director, who earned her CCPE designation this spring.

“This achievement formalizes what we at VCH Richmond have known all along; that Dr. Wagner embodies that rare combination of medical expertise and leadership capability that is so important in today’s complex healthcare environment,” said Jennifer MacKenzie, chief operating officer, VCH Richmond.

Introduced in 2010 by the Canadian Medical Association and the Canadian Society of Physician Leaders, the CCPE credential program was created to recognize physician leaders across Canada.

CCPEs are required to have a minimum of 5‐10 years of progressively responsible health care leadership experience. As well, CCPEs must show evidence of accomplishments that have impacted the health care system on many levels.

Dr. Wagner was one of only nine physicians from across Canada in 2016 to achieve the CCPE designation.
