“I value her expertise, care and hard work tremendously”
Elaine Leung, a case manager with Richmond’s Older Adult Mental Health Team, helped bring one local family back together. Her efforts were praised in this recent Thank You letter from the family…
I am writing in recognition of Elaine Leung’s contribution to the well being of my family.
We were so lucky to have Elaine take the case of my grandfather after he attempted suicide in 2015. Her obvious care for my grandfather, precise and quick assessment of his physical, psychological and cultural needs, and the assistance she mobilized for him, helped him greatly. Her involvement also expedited his placement into residential care, which has kept him safe from falling, further suicide attempts, and unburdened my family from great worry.
Helping everyone who needs it
Elaine also identified how my mother’s depression affected my grandfather’s depression. My mother suffered a stroke in 2013 and had been extremely depressed since. My father was the primary caregiver for both my mother and grandfather, and was under tremendous stress. My mother’s depression and subsequent mistreatment of my father drove him to wit’s end. I was at a loss as to what to do and grew frustrated with my mother. Elaine’s involvement and mobilization of psychiatric help for my mother, which led to a prescription of anti-depressants, has helped our family a lot. My mother’s emotional state and psychological state has turned around completely.
Mending relationships
With Elaine’s assistance, astute observations of the issues within my family, and identification of what needed to be done, our family is in a much better state. I can honestly say that no other medical professional has been able to help us as much as she has. I value her expertise, care and hard work tremendously, and would like her to be recognized for this.
Thank you very much, Elaine.

This is Completely Beautiful! How wonderful that Elaine has been able to intervene……is it possible to clone her? Actually, I bet there are a lot of “Elaine”s on you team. Great to know you are there
