Get your word out: Using the new elevator display cases

Thanks to the Richmond Hospital Foundation and Maintenance Supervisor Steve Shierbeck, each of Richmond Hospital’s eight elevators now has two, new locking glass display cases.

To ensure the 16 display cases are used only to promote VCH programs and services, and those programs and services of our primary partners in a way that’s organized, equitable and easily accessible, the following guidelines are now in place:

Circulation of posters

  • Posters must be received by Volunteer Resources (Rotunda, Room 1758) no later than 4 p.m. on Fridays for posting the following week.
  • Place posters (10 copies is recommended) into the marked bin, located to the right of the Volunteer Resources office door.
  • Only hard copies of posters will be accepted. Volunteer Resources does not print posters.
  • Posters will be refreshed in each elevator display case at the start of each week (Monday’s or Tuesday, depending on the availability of volunteers).
  • Posters will be date stamped upon receipt by Volunteer Resources, and will be displayed for a minimum of two week up to a maximum of 30 days.
  • If there is high demand for posting space, Volunteer Resources reserves the right to remove posters after two weeks to ensure equitable access to the poster display cases.

Poster size & content

  • The recommended poster size is 8 ½” x 11” and no larger than 11” x 17”.
  • Upon drop off to Volunteer Resources, please ensure you include a note with your posters that provides a contact name and telephone/e-mail information for clarification of content, if necessary.
  • Posters will be subject to regular audits to ensure materials are appropriate, relevant and up-to-date.
  • Materials not acceptable for posting include: a) Advertising or endorsement of private or corporate business whose main purpose is profit. b) Political posters for individual political parties or candidates. c) Contain material that is obscene, pornographic, vulgar, libelous, racist, sexist, homophobic or not in alignment with VCH’s Vision and Values.
