A heartfelt thank you to all volunteers
April 23 to 29, 2017 is National Volunteer Week in Canada when volunteers across our country are celebrated and acknowledged for their invaluable contributions. On behalf of VCH Richmond staff and physicians, I would like to express a sincere thank you to all our dedicated volunteers.
This year, more than 800 VCH Richmond volunteers gave in excess of 70,000 hours to support patients, residents and clients. The ages and backgrounds of our volunteers are diverse, but they share a common commitment to care.
Volunteers contribute in many important ways including greeting hospital visitors, raising money for patient and resident care, visiting clinic patients and elderly residents, helping with recreational activities, assisting in flu clinics and participating in committees.
We invite you to join us in recognizing the time, skills and enthusiasm that volunteers have so generously provided and their willingness to positively impact the lives of others. When you see a volunteer this week, please take a moment to thank them for all they do!
Sincerely,
Jennifer MacKenzie,
Chief Operating Officer, VCH Richmond
